CAMP declutter: Catching Up

I haven’t forgotten my 2017 challenge, CAMP declutter, I’ve just fallen behind in showing my progress. Week 6: Super Simple Tea Station I tidied up this part of the kitchen counter twice in February. I replaced the chrome canisters with a few mismatched Bell Jars, which was nice, but not great. So I grabbed up 3 Fido Jars at the Crate and Barrel when I was in Arlington. We don’t have a lot of counter space, so we just keep the tea out and ready. The kids and I drink tea a few times a day, so it get’s the honor countertop time. Don only drinks coffee (at home) on the weekends, so he has a coffee tray that lives on top of the fridge. I’ll trick out his coffee tray soon. Week 7: Aidan’s Mess and a new chair UG! I can’t tell you how happy that I’ve been since I cleaned up this messy spot right off the foyer. This is my youngest’s dumping and storage area, trust me when I tell you …

CAMP declutter week 5

I’ve been decluttering my way through some of my kitchen cabinets for the last two weeks. My goal was to get all of the cleaning supplies wrangled into one spot and under the sink. This made me rethink my pantry and what was the baking cabinet. Today I’ll show you how I’ve created a more thoughtful and organized situation. The dark and cluttered cabinet was a HOT mess. Even the one wall mounted organizer wasn’t being used well. I started by emptying out the contents and getting rid of any and all things that my family of 4 doesn’t need or use anymore. For one, the old dish drainer and rack got a good scrub and was dropped off at Diversity Thrift. I was able to put all the water bottles in an upper cabinet that once had cold meds. Now we …

CAMP declutter – Catch-All Basket

I have a thing for piles! Piles of paper, piles of books, piles of projects. You name it; I’ve had a pile of it. In my attempt to cull and make pretty (CAMP) the small places I am always looking for a simple solution for a cluttered spot. I mentioned that I’d be working on my sink cabinet this week, well, that project has grown. Redoing that cabinet now includes the two kitchen cabinets and my pantry. It’s all very exciting, I’ll reveal it next week. So for this week, I have a quick fix for us. I was tidying up the dining room this morning, I grimaced at the overflowing papers, that seems to live on a bar stool in my dining room. That’s when I noticed a basket from HomeGoods. There it was, in the corner, just 18″ away. DUH!   I bought this covered basket ($8.99) for the bathroom earlier this month, but it was too big, and I planned to return it. Glad I didn’t! Anything of current importance is in …
