Quick and Easy S’mores

As you know, I’m hosting a blog series in support of Ink and Arrow Fabric’s new fabric line Camp S’mores, designed by Lisa Jane Smith. Shortly after getting the fabric I knew I had to make a big plate of s’mores. I don’t need to explain why right? Anyone that knows me well knows that I have a soft spot for marshmallows. So I thought I’d take a break from sewing and crafting and share with my no-fail s’more recipe. These are so simple to make; even your kids could whip these up for you! Step One: Lay out 4  individual graham crackers squares and top with 1/3 cup of Trader Joe’s Chocolate Chunk Chips. I like to use these chunky chips because they melt faster than candy bars do and I always have them in the house. But, mostly because they are oooooh so darn good. Microwave for a full 30 seconds. Step 2: Next, add an s’more friendly marshmallow on top and microwave for 10 seconds and smooch. Repeat this one more time …

New Mamma Salad

This blog post was first posted on Oilcloth Addict blog in the summer of 2o14.  Since I posted it 2 years ago, I’ve tweaked it a bit and I’ve given it a new name. The New Mamma Asian Salad is the yummiest salad ever. I have one, that go-to recipe that we pull out for every new baby, pot luck and sick friend. Mine is this Asian Chicken Salad! I must say, I haven’t been a very good friend lately. Know how I can tell? My dear friend, Christi, recently injured her thumb in a horrific manner (eek) and needed a little TLC! I was pleased as punch when she asked if I could bring up my Asian Chicken Salad and to stay for a visit. This is the salad I brought her when her second son was born nearly 14 years ago (YIKES).   This is my pot luck quantity, cut in half for dinner time.
